There are many reasons as to why an Internet user would like to fake his or her location. The solution however is the same and that is faking your IP-address and in this tutorial I will show you how.

See the only way to determine your location online is by doing a reverse lookup of your IP-address. Your IP-address is a unique number that you inherit from your Internet Provider and it is needed to communicate online. Finding your location via your IP is very easy – just look at this:

How to get an IP-address From Another Country

So what you need is an IP-address from a different country. You get a new IP-address by connecting to what is called a Virtual Private Network, which is normally referred to as VPN. Basically your computer will connect to a server located in another country and you will then inherit a new IP from this server. Since it is located in a country of your choice you will then appear to the outside world to be located in the same place.

There are plenty of VPN providers on the market, but frankly there is only a handful worth considering. My personal favorite is Unlocator as both price and speed in very competitive. Besides you get access to all their servers in more than 42 countries once you sign up. Simply install their application on either PC, Mac, IOS or Android and then select the city/country you want to hide in and click connect. Your data connection is now encrypted and you will appear to be located in the location of your choice.

This is pretty neat and very secure as your data is encrypted both to and from the VPN server. Anyhow that is how you go about it if you need to fake your location.
