Hulu is THE place for watching current TV shows online. No other service can compete with the size and freshness of the Hulu catalogue when it comes to TV shows. If you are Canadian however, that does not mean much as the service is only available in the US. That said – there is a way to get access to Hulu from Canada and I will show you how.

See just like almost any other online service that differentiates the audience based on geographic location, Hulu will use your IP address to detect where you are located. As soon as the Hulu website sees your Canadian IP address you will see this message: “Sorry, currently our video library can only be watched from within the United States”. So as you might have guessed you need to fake your location in order to get access to Hulu from Canada.

How to Make Hulu Think you Have Moved From Canada to America

The trick here is simply hiding your actual IP address. This is done by connecting to a middle man located in the US in form of a VPN server (Virtual Private Network). That way all of your data traffic will become encrypted and passed trough a server located in the US. In return Hulu will see and American IP address instead of your Canadian IP address.

This is really all it takes to get access to Hulu from Canada and the setup of the VPN connection itself is very easy. There are several VPN providers on the market, but personally I use Unlocator as they have How to watch Hulu in Canadagreat speeds and prices. Once signed up simply install the application on your PC or Mac and fire it up. Then select a server located in the US from the list and click connect – sit back for 5-10 seconds and wait for the green indicator light to turn on and then revisit the Hulu website. Now you can watch as much content as you like as if you were located in American and not Canada.

What About Watching Hulu Plus From Canada?

If you want access to the Plus version of Hulu from Canada then you need to jump trough one more hoop. The “problem” is that Hulu Plus is a paid service just like . However, you can only use credit cards issued in the US to pay for the service. Thankfully some clever guy found out that you can use prepaid US credit cards to pay for Hulu Plus and he is selling these cards online here.

You will still need a VPN connection with your Hulu Plus subscription, but then you are good to go. A prepaid American credit card and a Unlocator connection and you can run amok with Hulu Plus content – even though you are living in Canada.

So there you have it – whether you want to watch the basic or plus version of Hulu from Canada the approach is the same. Fake your location by using a VPN connection (Unlocator) and Hulu will never know that you are located north of the border in Canada – have fun.
