The Canadian Broadcast Corporation has a great video portal where you can view all the shows online. Unless you are outside Canada that is. However, you can use the following trick to watch CBC anywhere in the world.

The thing is that CBC will check your current location according your IP address. This is a unique number inherited from your Internet provider when going online and it is a dead give away of your location.

Fake Your Location to Watch CBC Wherever you want

All you need to make this work is fake your location. You do this by connecting to a VPN, which stands for Virtual Private Network. It might sound a bit complicated but it is actually very straightforward. If you connect to a server located in Canada then this server will act as a sort of middleman between you and CBC. That way it will look like you are located in Canada as well – no matter where in the world you are.

Setting up VPN to Watch CBC

The setup is fairly easy as long you use a provider with plenty of bandwidth and a secure server located in Canada. I prefer Unlocator since they have great speeds and a very easy approach to setting up VPN. Instead of having to establish a manual connection they have made a small application for both Mac and PC, which does all this automatically. Once installed you simply select Canada from a drop down and press connect. That is all there is to it and from now on you appear as if in Canada and you can stream away.

So that’s how you watch CBC outside Canada from anywhere in the world. Happy streaming.
