Almost all the big US TV networks have online streaming available. However, the access it restricted to use inside the US only, so if you live in the UK you are out of luck. That is unless you use the following trick.

See all the big American TV stations, networks and streaming services such as ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and Hulu are only available to US viewers. Once you go to one of the above websites and try to stream a show or video you will be blocked from viewing as the website can detect that you are located in the UK. The website does this by determining your location via your computers IP-address. Don’t worry if you don’t know what that is, but and IP-address is a number that you get via your Internet provider and it is needed in order for your computer to communicate with websites and the likes online. The problem is that it is very easy to detect location via an IP-address. So what you need to do is get an American IP-address in order to fool the websites into letting you stream.

Fool Websites Into Thinking You are Located in the US

Thankfully it is pretty easy to get an American IP-address. All you need to do is connect to a Virtual Private Network also known as VPN. Once you are connected to a Watch American TV in the UKVPN server it will act as a middleman between you and the American TV website you are trying to access. That way the website will only see the American IP-address you have inherited from the VPN server. It will appear you have moved around the planet – albeit only virtually.

Setting Up VPN on Your Computer

The process of connecting to a VPN is very easy. All you need is an account with a VPN provider with a server in the US. I suggest going with the UK Company Unlocator. They have servers located all around the world and their prices and speeds are top notch.

Once you have signed up you simply download and install their app and fire it up. Then simply select a server located in the US from the list and click connect – in a matter of seconds you will see a green light indicated you are connected and you now appear to be located in the US. From then on simply visit the site you want in your browser and stream away. It is that simple really.

This is a perfect solution for American expats living the UK and others interested in keeping up with what the latest TV shows from the US.
