The Crackle website gives you access to a long range of ad supported free movies as long as you live in the US. Users from outside the US are unable to watch the free movies as they simple won’t load. To deal with this problem I have written the following tutorial.
Due to licensing restrictions Crackle is unable to allow users from outside the US to access the videos. Before a video loads they check the location of the user by tracing the IP-address of the user. An IP-address is a unique number you get from your Internet Provider and it is needed to get online at all. If the IP-address is shown not come from the US the video will simply not load. So what you need to do is get an American IP-address in order to fool Crackle into let you watch.
Simply Fake Your Location to Watch Crackle Abroad
Although it might sound a bit complicated the solution to the problem is actually pretty simple. By connecting to a Virtual Private Network also known as VPN you can obtain an IP-address from and American server and thus trick Crackle into allowing you to stream the content you want.
Setting up a VPN connection is not that complicated and is even easier if you use a VPN client to do it. I use Unlocator as their speeds and prices are great. Once you have installed the application and logged in you can then select a server in the US and click connect. Once the application has done its magic you can reload the crackle site and select the movie you want to watch and boom – now the video loads.
The cool thing is that this methods works for unblocking all the other US only websites and services as well. So if you live outside the US a good VPN connection really is a must if you want to make the most of your online experience.
