Channel 4 has some of the best content available in the UK. Unfortunately the content is not available outside the UK. That is unless you use the following trick.
If you try to watch a video on the Channel 4 site from outside the UK you will be meet with the following message ”The service is not currently available in your area. Click here to access our Help section.” The help section will not do anything for you in the case. Instead you need to trick the website into thinking that you are located in the UK. You can do this by connecting to a Virtual Private Network also know as VPN. This will allow you to connect to a secure server in the UK and have it act as a middleman between you and Channel 4. That way it will appear as if you are located in the UK and you will be allowed to stream no matter where in the world you are. Pretty cool right?
Setting up VPN to Watch Channel 4
In order for this to work you need access to a VPN provider with a powerful server. That is because streaming video requires plenty of bandwidth and most ordinary VPN providers wont be able to 
handle this. I learned this the hard way by burning my fingers on lots of different setups. In the end however I took another approach and got a connection from Unlocator. They have made a custom app that takes out all the effort of setting up VPN. Simply install the app and select where in the UK you want to hide and then click connect. That is all there is to it and you can now watch all the Channel 4 content you want to.
The application will also allow you to connect to servers in the US and many other countries. This will allow you to unblock just about any country specific service and not only Channel 4. Anyhow that is the approach you need if you want to take the Channel 4 content with you anywhere you go. Happy viewing.
